NVIDIA tweaking designs of AI chips for China

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang told customers including Alibaba Group, ByteDance (parent company of TikTok) and Tencent Holdings on his trip to Beijing that NVIDIA is tweaking the design of its AI chips in order for those to be possible to be sold in China without coming under US export restrictions and rules.

Back in April Huang again took a trip to China after the US Government limited exports of its H20 chips specifically made for China which was going to result in a 5.5 Billion negative for the company.

The Company said a sample of its new chip will be available as soon as June and that NVIDIA was also working on a China-specific version of its AI chip Blackwell.
