“Vibe coding” is the name for programming where AI is used to write code and it’s coming to Apple programming software Xcode where AI will be used to write, edit and test code on behalf of programmers and Apple is partnering with Anthropic for it.
Previously Apple announced an AI coding tool for Xcode named Swift Assist intended for 2024 release but it never made it to developers.
Apple is not the only Company to invest in AI coding assistants with OpenAI in talks to buy AI-assisted coding tool Windsurf for $3 Billion.
Apple will first use the software internally with no public release announced.
The new partnership with Anthropic yet to be confirmed would add to Apple’s AI offering besides equipping its devices with more powerful chips designed for AI tasks.
