Previously scheduled for a fall 2025 launch, the game Grand Theft Auto VI developed by Rockstar Games was on Friday delayed to May 26 2026. The game is the most important in Take-Two’s lineup of videogames with the previous in the series released in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V which sold more than 200 million copies, one of the best selling videogames of all time.
The game was expected to drive the overall growth of the videogame industry this year after its post-pandemic highs decline combined with U.S. tariffs leading to a surge in gaming console prices and lower consumer spending.
